The Whip It Up Wrap-Up! (with working links!)
Sorry folks for the earlier post without working links. Eeek! It seems that Typepad does not like cutting and pasting from GoogleDocs.
_______
When RA and I were initially planning for Whip It Up we thought we'd maybe get eight people to participate, though we hoped for twelve. Um. Well... We have 53 people signed up as of Friday, June 11th at 12:09 am. (If you're posting your recipe after this point but still within the first week that's fine! RA will post it in her wrap-up next week.)
Now, the original plan for these wrap-ups was to post pictures of each dish with all of the pertinent information. But as I sit here writing this, looking at the FORTY THREE recipes and quite frankly, I don't think you guys want to look at forty three pictures in one post. Never fear, the recipes are all listed below.
Whip It Up Announcements:
- The theme for the week of July 14th is cheese. Remember, themes are not required, they're just suggestions to help guide people who might be lost (ME!)
- The wrap-up will be posted at RA's blog next Friday. RA is organized and will not be writing it in the middle of the night like some people we know
- We were going to be strict with the the sign-up closing date. But eh, after we already have 53 people, what's a few more. If you're still interested in signing up, please e-mail us at whippingitup@gmail.com
- Remember, the recipe needs to be new to you. You don't have to invent one, it doesn't have to be recently published, it just has to be the first time you are making this recipe. The goal of this whole thing is to expand our own cooking repertoires, but we have the added benefit of sharing with others
Since I know you're looking for the recipes and probably haven't read most of what I've written above, I hate to make you wait anymore, but for just one minute I think we need to give thanks to the Firefox gods who allow me to split screen my tabs. *sigh* It's a beautiful thing.

If this first week is any indication, we will have QUITE the collection of recipes on our hands by the end of the summer. Woo!
Jaime, you do have a full week! You are fine until tomorrow to count for Week 1, so don't you worry at all.

Oh this looks delicious, and it's so useful and organized. Thanks!

Hurray! This is amazing! I think my biggest problem is going to be trying a new not-already-in Whip-it-Up recipe for next week! These look so amazing I want all of them for breakfast!

Thanks for all your hard work in posting this list! There are so many to try, I don't know where to start. And, as it turns out, my husband didn't NEED any leftovers for work today since he got free dinner last night while on shift; now I don't have to feel so bad about my selfishness. ;)

Hey hon... many of your tags have %20 at the end of them, so a lot of "Page Not Found" messages are coming up on the links. Just FYI.

Holy Guacamole, that's a lot of recipes! Are we allowed to try others' whip it up recipes ourselves for future whip it up weeks? Because some of those look like they need to be tried in my kitchen as soon as possible.

Thanks for the wrap-up. Looking forward to seeing what next week brings!
Posted by: Sarah | July 11, 2008 at 05:00 PM
53 people? That's awesome. I'm so excited to dig through these recipes!
Posted by: Erin | July 11, 2008 at 10:15 PM
I am particularly impressed at your thoughtful comments about each recipe - it made it so readable, whereas I would have just skimmed a plain old list and missed things! It was also exciting to see what you would say about MY recipe, and I wasn't disappointed :-) ...don't worry, I will most definitely make it for you. And my mom already mentioned wanting to try your eggplant balls, which I am looking forward to as well - I might try them this week!

Looks like I was one of the few without a big success this week!
Next week will be better!

It's so fantastic that you guys have had such a huge response! Obviously I'm not the only one who wanted to feel inspired to cook. :)
